| As a youth and young man, Cezanne used to visit and walk amongst the quarries. When he began painting, he had to take a horse and buggy ride, then had to climb a significant distance with his easels, paints and equipment. So he used this little place to store everything he needed. (According to Marianne, who has been a guide at the site since 2006, he had the place built. According to the link I posted he rented the place.) |
